Howdy! Thanks for visiting my website – I hope you liked what you have seen. Maybe you have a book you would like to recommend me read? Or are interested in getting me to help your organisation in some way?
My career started in New Zealand with four years as a graphic designer in the fabric printing industry, followed by just over seven years spent in a medical device industry, and more recently over the last year or so I have started studying for a Grad Dip endorsed in Marketing and second Dip in General Business based at Massey University’s Albany campus.
I moved from the graphic design field into marketing during my time in the medical industry as I became more and more involved in their branding committee. I loved the strategic aspect and seeing successes measured. This fuelled my passion for e-marketing & seeing businesses succeed to their maximum potential!
Resigning from my full-time role was not an easy choice - however I am pleased I took the step of faith! I feel like of gone from strength to strength being free to take on more papers and work part-time as a consultant. My time as a consultant is varied, from graphic design to internet business development. I am finding my involvement in the strategic side of business development very satisfying and look forward to helping organisations increase their ROI through creative solutions – especially using the internet to leverage current investments. Maybe your firm might be next?
In June 2012, I participated in Auckland’s Startup Weekend. The team I was in, ‘JumpOnBoard’, created an innovative way to help groups of friends organise their holidays. We were very excited to win 2nd place and for our group to be get a complete team photo and mention in an Idealog article. It was also mentioned in other articles like TechDay Startup (photo at the bottom), Stuff.co.nz and on the Auckland Start Up website.
The following month, July 2012, saw me compete as a semi-finalist, and then present (Dragon’s Den Style), as one of four finalists in the ‘Go, Innovate!’ competition held at the Sir Niel Waters Lecture Thearter, at Massey University’s Innovation campus in Albany, Auckland.
I believe my success at Startup Weekend and ‘GoInnovate!’ helped secure my role as a Marketing Manager at an innovative kiwi ‘startup’ – Pushpay™. Pushpay™ is a smartphone application helping organizations and businesses receive payments quicker. Currently I am working on my own venture – helping people with food allergies. Right now I am testing a prototype of the technology I hope to develop using smartphones and tablets. I aim to facilitate subtle and efficient conversations between those with the food allergy and those that expend hospitality to them. If you think you might like to use this product when it is released, leave your details on the form or contact me.
You are welcome to contact me, maybe a book recommendation or perhaps I can help your profits grow too!
